US air force officer Aaron Bushnell (25) set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in DC to protest the genocide of Gaza. Bushnell succumbed to his wounds.
Before setting himself on fire, he said, “I will be no longer be complicit in genocide.”, “Free Palestine”.

“He is one of the most principled comrades I’ve ever known,” said Xylem, who worked with Bushnell to support San Antonio’s unhoused residents.
It was a rare moment that an American soldier sacrificed himself not for Israel, which commits a genocide in Gaza now, but for Palestine.
