President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced after the Cabinet Meeting that Turkey has taken important steps in the field of defense industry. Erdoğan stated that the missile stockpile with a range of 800 kilometers and above will be strengthened and the missile development program with a range of 2,000 kilometers and above will be accelerated, and that many defense projects have been successfully commissioned.
President Erdoğan touched upon the importance of the defense industry and said, “These words of our ancestors full of wisdom have been guiding us for 22 years: ‘Get ready for war if you want peace and prosperity.’ Our investments in the defense industry are not for preparing for war, but for preserving and defending peace, stability, future and independence.” Emphasizing that Turkey is a source of confidence for its friends, Erdoğan stated that they are determined to protect the homeland.
Türkiye has three types of long-range missiles namely Tayfun, Cenk and Gezgin. Their ranges are estimated to be between 800 km and 3000 km.
