Speaking at the opening ceremony of the sixth section of Northern Marmara Highway, President Erdoğan said: “From using terrorist organizations and attempting coups to setting political and economic traps and implementing sanctions, every method has been employed in order to stand in our country’s way. Thanks be to Allah, these attempts have failed thus far. We are determined to make it accepted that Turkey never shies away from exercising its sovereign rights.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference the opening ceremony of the sixth section of Northern Marmara Highway.
“WE HAVE ALMOST DOUBLED THE HIGHWAY LENGTH IN TURKEY”
Noting that Turkey had for long suffered from shortcomings in transportation in the past, President Erdoğan said: “When we came to power, the total length of divided roads in our country stood at 6,100 kilometers merely. We have increased it up to 28,000 kilometers. We have almost doubled the highway length in Turkey.”
Stressing that over 880 billion Turkish liras was allocated for transportation investments alone over the past 18 years, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey will increasingly become a center of attraction for local and foreign investors as the construction of the infrastructure needed for a powerful and great Turkey is completed. “This is best evidenced by the fact that we have attracted so far 220 billion dollars’ worth of international investment. That said, a far bigger leap forward awaits us in the period ahead,” the President underlined.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO DISAPPOINT THOSE SEEKING TO BRING OUR COUNTRY TO ITS KNEES”
“From using terrorist organizations and attempting coups to setting political and economic traps and implementing sanctions, every method has been employed in order to stand in our country’s way. Thanks be to Allah, these attempts have failed thus far,” the President stated. “We are determined to make it accepted that Turkey never shies away from exercising its sovereign rights. Both our doors and hearts are open to those who are ready to discuss and negotiate with us on an equal basis and with fair proposals. I am telling those seeking to bring our country to its knees through threats, impositions, hypocrisy and tricks; we will continue to disappoint you.”
