Hezbollah Drone Attack Injures Dozens in Israel

Hezbollah launched a drone attack on an Israeli military base, injuring dozens. In response to Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, Hezbollah targeted the Golani Brigade camp in northern Israel. Social media footage showed the aftermath. Israel’s defense system failed to detect the drones, leading to casualties.

A major escalation took place on Sunday when Hezbollah launched a drone attack on a military base in northern Israel, leaving dozens injured. The Lebanese militant group claimed responsibility, targeting the Golani Brigade camp in the Binyamina area, south of Haifa.

What Happened?

According to Reuters, at least 40 people were hurt, with three in critical condition. Hezbollah said it launched a “swarm of drones” in response to recent Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, which killed 22 people. The group said the attack was to support the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and defend the Lebanese people.

Footage shared on social media showed ambulances and helicopters rushing to the scene to take the injured to hospitals. One of the drones, loaded with explosives, hit the base directly.

Defense Failure

The Israeli military confirmed the attack came from Lebanon, but their defense systems failed to detect the drones, meaning no alarms went off before the strike. Reports suggest that the camp’s cafeteria was among the areas hit.

Israeli Army Radio reported that Hezbollah tricked the air defense system by launching missiles to distract from the drones. The attack killed three people and injured 39, with several in critical condition. Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), said four of the injured were critical, five were seriously hurt, and 14 had moderate injuries.

Hezbollah’s Warning

After the attack, Hezbollah warned Israeli settlers to stay away from military bases in northern Israel. This event is part of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides continuing to exchange attacks.
