At the joint press conference held after his official meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his interest in Turkey’s defense industry projects. Subianto announced that Indonesia would like to participate in the 5th generation fighter jet KAAN project.
Referring to the agreements to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries, Subianto made the following statements:
“We would like to take part in the KAAN and submarine project”
“There were also areas where we agreed on joint ventures. We will make these agreements between our strategic companies and defense companies. Indonesia wants to take part in the 5th generation KAAN national combat aircraft project and we would like to take part in the submarine project together with the Turkish defense industry. We would like to benefit from this. In this sense, we exchanged ideas.”
