Kurdish Regional Government seizes weapons sent by YPG to PKK

The Security Council of the Kurdish Regional Government seized a large number of explosives and military equipment transferred by the YPG from Syria to the PKK in Iraq,  security analyst Ömer Özkızılcık reported.

The Kurdish authorities said that a “dangerous plot of the PKK against the Kurdistan region” was prevented.


A ton of explosives, 10 ATGMs, and 23 engines for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as 1,200 gas masks and 375 AK-47 magazines in the Duhok city.

The suspect Younis Ahmed Qasim Sleman revealed that the materials had been obtained from a YPG commander named Rudi Hussein.
The  operation was welcomed by Turkish analysts who said  it is a sign that Turks and Kurds working together to combat terrorism.
