While thousands of buildings collapsed during Kahramanmaraş earthquake in Türkiye, no building constructed by the state housing agency TOKİ were damaged in the devastating double quakes. TOKİ had built 134.000 houses in the affected area. The reason for TOKİ buildings’ durability is assumed to be strict state control on contractors.
Meanwhile, those buildings destroyed by earthquake were reported to be old buildings.
