DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan spoke at his party’s group meeting. He said that Öcalan is preparing to make a historic call in the coming days. Bakırhan stated that they support Öcalan’s call.

“Will Öcalan announce the call on February 15th, the day he was captured in Kenya and brought to Turkey?”

“Bakırhan also stated that the call for laying down arms would be a comprehensive call, including a call for laying down arms.

On 28 December, the DEM Party delegation met for the first time with Abdullah Öcalan, the ringleader of the terrorist organization, on İmralı Island in the critical process that started on 22 October.

In the statement made after that meeting, they said, “We can say that we are much more hopeful than in previous processes.” Öcalan shared a 7-point message after the meeting and signaled that he was ready to make a call. The delegation also met with party leaders in parliament.

The second meeting was held on January 23. In the statement of the delegation after the meeting, it was stated that terrorist organization leader Öcalan had done the necessary work and that “This process will make everyone, all of us, live together and freely.”
