Turkish defense delegation returns with orders from Indonesia

Within the scope of the signing ceremony, it was announced that ASELSAN signed strategic agreements for the SARP Remote Controlled Stabilized Weapon System, CENK 4-Dimensional Search Radar, Gun Fire Control System and Missile Data Link, while ROKETSAN signed strategic agreements for the SUNGUR Air Defence Missile System, ÇAKIR Cruise Missile and MAM-LMini Smart Munition between Turkey and Indonesia.

In addition, important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on unmanned surface vehicles, tank modernization and missile system maintenance were also signed, official sources said.

Commenting on the visit and the agreements signed, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of Defence Industries, said: “Today, we are proud to witness a historic moment with the distinguished participation of the President-Elect and Minister of Defence of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto. As a reflection of the strong ties between Turkey and Indonesia, today we participated in a series of signing ceremonies and were part of the important agreements that our leading defense industry companies have made with their local partners and end users.

Görgün also said, “While the Turkish defence industry is globally recognized for its capacity to produce innovative solutions, we are determined to further increase the strength of this cooperation with Indonesia. We believe that these agreements will positively affect not only the strategic partnership between the two countries, but also the regional and global security balances.

At the Indo Defence 2022 exhibition held in Jakarta between November 2-5, 2022, Indonesia decided to purchase KHAN Ballistic Missile, ADVENT Combat Management System, Trisula Air Defense System and ANKA UCAV from Turkey. While the Asian country has recently increased its investments in Turkish Defense Industry products, Turkey continues to expand its customer portfolio.
