According to the latest eleven-month export data released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the defense and aerospace industry broke an export record.
November exports of the defense and aerospace industry increased by 32.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $637 million. The 11-month export reached $5,76 billion.
Commenting on the November 2024 exports of the defence and aerospace industry, President of Defense Industry Directorate Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün said: “Our defence industry is growing, developing and getting stronger every day! With our large, qualified and dynamic ecosystem, our systems that have proven themselves in the field, and our ever-growing export potential, we are showing the world that Turkey is now an important actor in the league of giants.
Behind this international growth trend is the unconditional support of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his belief in Turkish engineering power and engineers. Our defence industry companies, which have become capable of exporting to the entire world, broke a record by exporting products to 178 different countries in 2024.
In the coming period, our Presidency will continue to carry out international activities that embrace both our large-scale companies and SMEs, increase the number of exporting companies, and make exports a sustainability anchor for the entire sector. I sincerely congratulate all our defense industry companies and their employees, who have directly and indirectly contributed to the increase in our exports and the development of our country, and I hope that these achievements will bring significant gains to our country.”
