Türkiye’s TUSAŞ offers Aksungur drones to US for Mexican border patrol

The General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), Mehmet Demiroğlu, stated that their goal for 2025 is to increase exports by 50%.

Emphasizing the importance of expanding into the European market, Demiroğlu shared that his dream is to sell ATAK helicopters to Germany.

“GERMANY WILL COME TO US”

In a statement to Türkiye Newspaper, Demiroğlu said, “As TUSAŞ, I want to sell ATAK helicopters to Germany. This is my personal goal.” He noted that Germany has not yet held official talks with them on this matter.

Expressing his belief that “Germany will come to us,” Demiroğlu added, “We know that Germany’s defense industry is not at the desired level and that they need rapid solutions. That’s why I think they will eventually knock on our door, and I am working toward this goal.”

“AMERICANS WERE SURPRISED”

TUSAŞ’s General Manager highlighted that demand from abroad has increased due to the quality, capabilities, and price-performance balance of their products. He also mentioned that they have made significant progress in Africa and are striving to be present in every market, including the U.S.

Demiroğlu revealed that they proposed the Aksungur UAV to Americans for border surveillance along the Mexico border. “This system, which can stay in the air for two days, could be an effective solution. They were surprised; they didn’t expect such an offer,” he said.

Demiroğlu also pointed out that companies that previously did not sell products to Turkey now want to work with them. He stated:
