Türkiye’s first unmanned fighter jet/drone Kızılelma made its maiden flight in December 14, one year earlier than scheduled date. Kızılelma is the new generation of drones produced by Baykar Tech. After Bayraktar TB2’s success in battlefields, Baykar Tech began to produce the larger Akıncı and now Kızılelma. The latest member of the family has a turbo-fan engine produced by an Ukrainian company. It has a 0.8 Mach speed and can carry 1.5 ton payload. Mass production is expected to start next year.
