The UAE may join Türkiye’s KAAN fighter jet project. The claim became viral after KAAN’s producer TUSAŞ and UAE’s Edge Group signed a comprehensive agreement for cooperation. During signature ceremony at World Defense Show held in Saudi Arabia, TUSAŞ’s General Manager Temel Kotil gave Edge Group’s CEO Hamad Mohamed al-Marar KAAN jet’s framed picture.
The picture was interpreted as Edge Group’s join to the KAAN project.
There were also rumors spreading in The World Defense Show that Saudi Arabia may join the KAAN project, too. Since Saudis had applied to join South Korea’s KF-21 project , their eagerness to be a part of the Turkish jet project may not be more than a rumor.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan had pledged to join the KAAN project last year.
