During the US-Ukraine meeting in Saudi Arabia, Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire. US Secretary of State Rubio said, “The ball is now in Russia’s court.”
While the echoes of the harsh verbal exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on February 28th continue, the parties sat down at the table in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, yesterday to resolve their issues. During the 9-hour meeting, Ukraine agreed to a 30-day temporary ceasefire proposal, while the US side noted that the ball is in Moscow’s court.
## MEETING WAS CONSTRUCTIVE
Those at the table included US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, and National Security Advisor Musad bin Muhammad al-Aiban, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. A senior official from Zelenskyy’s team stated that the meetings were “constructive.”
## LETTER OF APOLOGY ARRIVED
A critical statement came from the US before the meeting in Jeddah. Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had ‘apologized’ in a letter sent to the US President. Referring to the meetings with the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia, Witkoff said that a rare earth elements agreement could be signed this week.
## THE BALL IS NOW IN RUSSIA’S COURT
Following the meetings, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that they would take the ceasefire proposal, which Ukraine viewed positively, to the Russian side, saying, “We hope they will say yes. The ball is now in Russia’s court.”
## US WILL SHARE INTELLIGENCE
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that the US had decided to continue aid to his country, saying, “The US is immediately removing the hesitation in intelligence sharing with Ukraine and restarting security assistance.”
## TRUMP WILL RE-INVITE ZELENSKYY
US President Donald Trump also evaluated the latest meetings between the US and Ukraine to members of the press in the White House garden. Trump said, “Ukraine has accepted this agreement, and I hope Russia will also accept it. We will meet with them today and tomorrow, and I hope we can reach an agreement.” In response to the question of “Whether Ukrainian President Zelenskyy will be invited to the White House again,” Trump answered, “Yes, absolutely.”
## Moscow Hit by UAVs
