Turkey and Indonesia signed a series of new agreements
The visit to Jakarta, coordinated by the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), took the defence relations between the two countries to a new dimension.
At the ceremony held with the participation of Indonesia’s President-Elect and Minister of Defence Prabowo Subianto, Turkish companies signed strategic agreements with local partners and end users.
Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of Defence Industries, emphasized the importance of the agreements:
“Today’s signatures constitute a major step in transforming the cooperation between the two countries into concrete projects. These agreements will pave the way for us to achieve greater success by combining the capabilities of Turkey and Indonesia in the defense industry.

FlightGlobal, one of the leading publications in the defense and aerospace industry, has announced the world’s 100 largest aerospace companies. BAYKAR and TAI, our national pride from Turkey, were included in this prestigious list.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) ranked 38th in the list. BAYKAR, which entered the list for the first time, ranked 49th.
The first REİS-class submarine TCG PİRİREİS entered the inventory of the Turkish Navy
An important ceremony was held at Aksaz Shipyard Command with the participation of President Erdoğan. With the ceremony, PİRİREİS submarine entered service. In addition, a flag-raising ceremony was held for the HIZIRREİS Submarine and navigation experiences began.

Tests and trials of the “Submarine Floating Dock” have been successfully completed
The Submarine Floating Dock was officially put into service on August 24 with the participation of President Erdoğan at the Opening Ceremony of Aksaz Shipyard Command and the Delivery Ceremony of Naval Platforms.
The acceptance examinations of the Submarine Pool were completed on June 1, 2023 and delivered to the General Directorate of Shipyards.
Thus, the Submarine Pools were included in the inventory of the Ministry of National Defense, primarily to serve the submarines of the Turkish Naval Forces.
Turkey and Qatar established a Joint Squadron
Turkey and Qatar reinforced their partnership in the field of defense with the establishment of a Joint Squadron at Qatar’s Dukhan Air Base.
A joint fighter jet squadron was established between the Turkish Air Force and Qatar Air Force. The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced the Turkish-Qatari Joint Squadron to the world in the message it shared while announcing the visit of Turkish Air Force Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu.
Nigeria’s first Offshore Patrol Vessel, built by DEARSAN, has successfully completed its first sea trials
Dearsan, one of the key players in the Turkish defense industry, has successfully completed the sea trials of the first Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) it built for the Nigerian Navy.
The agreement between Dearsan and the Nigerian Navy was signed on November 3, 2021 for two 76-meter offshore patrol vessels. This project adds a new link to the international achievements of the Turkish defense industry, while contributing to the strengthening of strategic partnerships in Africa.
New details of the National Aircraft Carrier Project have emerged
Significant progress has been made in the National Aircraft Carrier Project, an important milestone in Turkey’s defense industry.
While the concept design of the project was completed, the hull form was determined and the necessary resistance and propulsion analyzes were carried out.

ASELSAN SARP gets stronger against the UAV threat with artificial intelligence support
ASELSAN, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defense industry, is making SARP, a member of the Remote Controlled Weapon Systems (RCWS) family, more effective against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
SARP systems will be equipped with artificial intelligence-supported targeting algorithms and will gain IHASAVAR capability.
TULPAR participates in Poland’s massive IFV tender
OTOKAR, one of Turkey’s leading defense companies, has submitted a bid for Poland’s heavy armored combat vehicle (ACV) tender with the TULPAR model. This move has the potential to strengthen Turkey’s position in the international defense market.
Developed by OTOKAR, the TULPAR IFV stands out with its modular design and superior mobility. As a multi-purpose platform, TULPAR can be used in various roles such as infantry combat, reconnaissance and air defense.
The vehicle’s turbocharged diesel engine, which ranges between 700 and 1100 horsepower, promises superior performance in difficult terrain conditions.
Türksat 6A’s electric propulsion engine successfully ignited
The “electric propulsion engine” developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY for Türksat 6A, Turkey’s first domestic and national communication satellite, has been successfully ignited, making “space history” in geostationary orbit.
The latest information within the scope of the Turksat 6A project was shared on TÜBİTAK’s social media account.
In the post, it was pointed out that the HALE 1500 electric propulsion engine developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY for the project was successfully ignited for 7 minutes, “Thus, our electric propulsion engine, produced with completely domestic and national facilities, has gained space history in geostationary orbit at an altitude of 35 thousand 786 kilometers.”
